Tara King –
I was bought this for Christmas and it was an amazing gift.
The marshal post is small enough even for the smallest layout and those awkward corners that you don’t have a lot of space in. You could use it with or without the base if you have a permanent layout and model it into a hillside etc.
I found the lugs very tight so make sure you do a dry run first before gluing. The instructions for this are mainly photographic so make sure you position the flag stand in the correct place (you need to make sure that the roof posts fit in the marshal post correctly.) It does flex a little but if positioned incorrectly it won’t fit. I made flags for the flag stand to make it look more realistic. I also painted it as I built it. I find it easier to do it that way. The Dunlop lettering and symbol in particular are easier to paint before gluing them in place. There are blank sides also just in case you want to make your own branding, as well as other numbers for the posts just in case you want more than one😉
I did use the base for my marshal post . I grassed it and put longer grasses near the posts.
